Poker to make another big screen appearance – Online Casino News
The world of poker is set to hit the big screen again next year with the release of Guns, Girls And Gambling, which is set to star Hollywood superstars Christian Slater and Gary Oldman alongside popular stand-up comedian Dane Cook.
The new motion picture has been described as a ‘stylised crime thriller’ and is the brainchild of writer-director Michael Winnick, the man behind the 2007 horror film Shadow Puppets.
Being produced by Freefall Films, the new motion picture throws Elvis impersonators, modern cowboys, a six-foot-tall blonde assassin, a frat boy, a corrupt sheriff and a prostitute into a chase for a priceless American Indian artefact stolen during a poker game at an Indian casino.
Slater, best known for films including True Romance, Broken Arrow and Heathers, is set to portray an average guy that finds himself joined in an Elvis impersonation contest as a result of a drunken night out. The star of such films as The Fifth Element, JFK and Sid And Nancy, Oldman will play the role of the contest’s ‘mega-contender’ while Cook is set to portray the crooked local sheriff.
Guns, Girls And Gambling is currently being filmed in the deserts of Utah and is scheduled for release sometime in 2011.
