Online casino operators are overjoyed that they are not in the business of sports betting after this past weekend. The NFL provided sports books with one of their worst Sunday’s in history this past week, leaving gamblers with extra money to play at online casinos.

In the UK, many online casinos are run by companies that are linked to sports betting sites as well. Unfortunately these sites were not immune to the problems of this past Sunday. When the favorites win in American football by a large margin, the sports books take a beating.

For online casinos such as Lion Slots, they did not have to worry about the Sunday massacre. They simply continued to offer the high quality service of providing online slots and table games to their customers.

“This is one week that many of these online casinos who have thought about getting into the sports book business are happy they have decided not to,” said Online Gaming Analyst Walter Boggs, “If anything, this past weekend reaffirmed that their decision to stay away from sports betting was a good one.”

Another great aspect of the sports book meltdown of the past week, is that gamblers have more money in their pockets to spend. While these online casinos do not have sports books, they do have many customers who also bet on football.

That means that the football gamblers were able to take that extra cash they made betting and spend some extra cash in the online casinos. Of course, not all weeks end up being so beneficial for these casinos, but at least for this week, they can be glad they stayed away from sports betting.
