Blotter: Poker After Dark’s legendary lineups
If you’re still craving some live poker after ESPN’s coverage of the 2009 WSOP, then most fans will agree that NBC’s Poker After Dark is offering the best action. This season’s tables have been some of the most memorable in poker TV history. While other new poker programs failed with amateur vs pro formats, Poker After Dark has built a loyal following by compiling dream rosters night after night and week after week.
This week’s table is so good that they’re rolling it over for a two-part tournament next week too. Through December 19, you can watch Tom Dwan, Gus Hansen, Phil Ivey, Phil Hellmuth, Patrik Antonius and Daniel Negreanu duke it out for cold hard cash. Unlike the straight-laced WSOP coverage, Poker After Dark presents a much more accurate image of what goes on at the big cash games. Dwan’s sharp snarks, Hellmuth’s prop bets and Ivey and Negreanu’s push for blind hands have kept avid fans tuning in to the 2am show.
